Install the Chrome extension
Use md telescribe during development by loading our extension in Chrome. No Chrome Web Store listing is required for this early-access install.

After downloading, follow the steps below to install in Chrome.
Installation steps
1. Download the extension
Download the ZIP file below. This is an early-access build while we complete Chrome Web Store review.
2. Unzip the folder
Extract the ZIP on your computer. You should see a folder named md-telescribe-extension with manifest.json inside.
3. Open Chrome extensions
In Google Chrome, go to chrome://extensions (paste that into the address bar and press Enter).
4. Enable Developer mode
Turn on Developer mode using the toggle in the top-right corner of the extensions page.
5. Load unpacked
Click "Load unpacked", then select the md-telescribe-extension folder you unzipped (the folder that contains manifest.json).
6. Pin and start recording
Pin the extension to your toolbar, open a telemedicine visit tab (e.g. Google Meet), and click Start Recording. The extension automatically detects audio-only vs video visits.
Before your first visit
- Create your md telescribe account if you have not already.
- Allow microphone access when Chrome prompts you — the extension records tab audio plus your mic.
- Use a normal website tab for your telemedicine call (not a chrome:// page). Google Meet and most telehealth platforms work.
- Keep the extension popup open after you stop recording until notes finish generating.
